There are gardens with plants characteristic of the Sonoran, Colorado, Chihuahuan and Mojave deserts as well as more specialized sections with plants from Baja California and desert oases. Many desert plants are grown from seeds or cuttings at the Living Desert and are sold at the Nursery. It is illegal to collect cactus and other plants in the wild.
